Recording studio in the heart of Debrecen
Recording studio in the heart of Debrecen
Ká Studio is a recording studio based in Debrecen.
The studio initially started as a closed-door project, intended exclusively for recording the band Árnyéknyúl. It was founded and equipped by Károly Kovács (Ká) in the spring of 2020. After Árnyéknyúl released their first EP recorded here at the end of 2020, the studio quickly gained attention among other bands. As a result, several bands requested recording and post-production services. Due to the growing interest, the studio officially opened its doors to other bands in early January 2021. Since 2022, Ká has been working full-time as a sound engineer at the studio.
Károly Kovács. But everyone just calls me Ká! As the founder and sound engineer of Ká Studio in Debrecen, my goal is to create an inspiring place where every musician and content creator can bring out their best.
Beginnings and Mission: Before founding Ká Studio, I worked with several studios on various projects. Unfortunately, the workflows or results often left me disappointed. This inspired me to start my own studio in 2020, where musicians and creators could truly feel at home. My aim is to provide a space where bands and artists get all the support they need to realize their musical visions. This way, they can focus on one thing: creating something new.
Professional Background: I gained most of my sound engineering knowledge through online courses, learning from internationally recognized professionals. I stay up-to-date with the latest developments in hardware and software, as well as advancements in AI and streaming platform algorithms.
Artistic Approach: I believe that music production is a collaborative effort. I treat every project as if it were my own, paying close attention to every step and actively participating in the creative process. I respect the artists' vision and strive to offer the best technical solutions to bring their ideas to life. I handle all aspects of studio work, from start to finish, ensuring quality and personal attention throughout the project.
Proudest Achievements: I'm particularly proud of Árnyéknyúl’s "Változás" album, which was the first major project in my studio. Some of my favorite recent works include Bordó Sárkány’s "5" and Neonhal’s "Jegyed van az életre" albums. You can find many more references on my website, which I keep updated regularly.
Future Vision: I aim to maintain the studio’s high standards while continuing to improve the technical setup. My goal is for Ká Studio to always offer the most modern solutions while preserving its human-centered, collaborative ethos.
Unique projects = Unique prices.
💡 Since Ká stúdió is running, no one was dissappointed with the price. You wont be the first.

All-in service (recording, editing, mixing, mastering)
Guaranteed fixed project price
Flexibility included
Have a fixed budget for your song or album? We’ll tailor the work to ensure it fits within your budget.
📷 For photo & video & podcast related materials I always calculate unique prices - based on the hourly rate.
At the studio, there's an option to work with a fixed project fee instead of an hourly rate. This often leads to faster progress, as bands aren’t pressured by the ticking clock, allowing their performance to improve significantly. If preferred, an hourly rate is still available, but with a reasonable and transparent estimate, projects are driven more by creativity than by budget constraints.
The first collaboration is often seen as a "get-to-know" session in the creative industry. If a band is uncertain, this experience helps build trust before future projects. The first recording is typically a mini-project, such as completing one song (including post-production).
During recording sessions, the studio provides continuous feedback, and bands are actively involved in the post-production process.
Ká Studio offers you or your band a free live session recording with a podcast interview. Check out the space, try out the instruments, see how the recording and post-production process works, and experience what it's like to work with Ká.
From private streams to monitor mixing sessions, a dedicated Discord server for easy communication, cloud-based archiving, and more modern solutions are available for bands regardless of project size or budget.

"I can only recommend Ká Studio to everyone. It has everything you need for a great recording session: snacks, soda, coffee, even drinks. Comfortable chairs, a couch... The studio is easy to reach. Working with Ká is excellent: he's calm, fast, and gives great instructions—this guy is a full-fledged producer. He's always available, which is a rare treasure in this industry. But most importantly: the quality of the recordings is out-standing-ly awesome! Let's go on an adventure!"

"So far, we've had by far the best studio experience with Ká. During the recording, he's flexible and patient, but most importantly, he does real producer work: he immediately sees what makes a song work and adds sounds and his own ideas—with the band's approval, of course—that we would have never thought of ourselves, but are essential to getting the most out of the song. It really feels like going to an old friend to put together a few tracks—only with a super professional result."

" I would recommend any musician whether beginner or seasoned veteran to trust the studio’s process and enjoy the experience. Working with Ká is a two-way street. He is communicative, receptive and clear. He will pay attention to the subtle details which could otherwise snowball into bigger issues down the line. One of the underlying philosophies of Ká’s recording method is “not to fix it in the post-production” rather get right in the pre-production stage. This means that the artist’s raw vision is nurtured with a healthy dose of realism whilst foreshadowing the challenges of the recording stage. During our two recording sessions, the process was well planned out and led to an enriching experience. Despite this usually being the most challenging chapter, Ká has a reverberating positivism which has brought out the best of all Steady Pluto’s members. The final part (post-production), is a lengthy continuous feedback to bring the mix and masters into the fullest of their potential. Ká achieves this and exceeds expectations using state of the art equipment, honest communication, cooperation and professionalism. All of which are paramount values in the Ká Stúdió."

"We highly recommend Ká Studio to anyone who wants to create high-quality music in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional environment! Working together at Ká Studio was an amazing experience. The location was very pleasant and cozy, with professional equipment at our disposal, and we received Ká's full attention throughout. He poured his heart and soul into the project from start to finish. Ká provided us with helpful, constructive feedback and had a great sense of how to ease the tension during stressful moments, helping us push through any challenges."

"Working with Ká is always a great experience. He pays close attention to the essential quality foundations but adapts individually to the circumstances and expectations of each project. He doesn’t churn out audio like on a production line; instead, he strives to bring the artist’s vision to life. He’ll keep tweaking things until everyone is satisfied. His enthusiasm for studio work radiates from him and is as contagious as a yawn in a crowded room."
/ Urbán Bence - Gidnim'Rém /
"Recording at Ká Studio feels like a wonderful journey. Both on a personal and musical level, the humility and dedication are at the highest level—you truly feel that they care about what you bring as an artist. Every session here is an unforgettable experience, not to mention the incredibly high quality of the recordings. I can only recommend it!"
/ Nagy Szilárd - Szilu /
"Ká is the kind of musician-producer-sound engineer who treats each song as a complex whole. Ká Studio holds a special place in our hearts because, for a few years, this same room was our rehearsal space. As musicians, we feel much more at home here than in a 'scientifically' designed but sterile studio. The atmosphere where recordings are made is incredibly important. We've worked at a few places with quite a few people, but—hopefully without offending anyone—this is where we felt the best. And the finished songs speak for themselves. Or rather, they play."
/ Nagy Tomi - Neonhal /
" Working with Ká to sum it all up was an amazing experience. The music knowledge is clear to see, the insights into the art and techniques are top quality. Don’t get me started on the studio, it had really work friendly vibe anyone can be very comfortable while they work. "

Is the studio capable of issuing invoices?
Yes, the studio can issue invoices for both individuals and companies (including deposit invoices).
What payment methods are accepted?
The studio accepts cash and card payments. Post-project costs can also be settled via bank transfer.
What happens if I want to change project details after signing the contract?

In what format will we receive the audio for revisions?
You will receive compressed formats (MP3 for audio, compressed MP4 for video). The level of compression will not affect the review and revision process. Lossless formats can only be requested after the project is fully paid.
How long after recording will we receive the final materials?
This is discussed at the start of the project and confirmed once the recording sessions are complete. For simpler projects (e.g., music demos, podcast recordings), the materials may be available on the spot. For more complex projects (e.g., full song post-production), the typical waiting time for completion of post-production (editing, mixing, premastering, mastering) is around 2-8 weeks. For urgent work, this can be expedited.
Is Ká Studio’s cloud archive secure?
The studio's cloud archive and file sharing are managed via Google Drive, ensuring security in line with Google’s standards. Only the studio and the band's designated Google accounts can access the archive. The studio also guarantees the physical and digital security of its hardware-based (local) backups.

Since the studio is located in the city center, food deliveries from nearby fast-food restaurants arrive quickly. Within a 5-minute walk, you can find gyros, lángos, burger joints, SPAR, and Reál grocery stores.
